Although Trigeminal neuralgia is not age related yet it is more likely to occur in individuals older than 5o years of age.  It is relatively more common among females than males. TN appears as mild pain involving complete or a part of face but gradually progresses into recurring episodes of severe jabbing pain like an electric shock. Simple touch on face, chewing, brushing or brushing teeth can trigger pain that may last up to several minutes.
